There are only a few days left in the Khelo India Youth Games. In such a situation, the state government of Assam is not only focusing on organizing it successfully, but also seeing it as creating a sports culture in the state.
Its main goal is to make Guwahati the sports capital of the country and Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has fully mobilized to achieve this goal.
During a meeting with Chief Minister Sonowal, the officials decided to organize a campaign called Village Olympic Talent Hunt for all panchayats in Assam. During this, Sonowal said, “The Assam State Government has approved a budget of Rs. 104 crore for the third edition of the Khelo India Youth Games.
This competition will empower the younger generation and help them realize their potential. I am Prime Minister Narendra I would like to thank Modi for taking forward the Khelo India Youth Games. “
The third edition of the Khelo India Youth Games will be held in Guwahati from 9 to 22 January. More than 10,000 athletes from 19 countries will participate in the event in 19 events. The state government has approved the financial requirements to set up 500 sports grounds in Assam.
To encourage the efforts of the athletes of Assam, the Khelo India Youth Games will receive Rs 1 lakh for gold medalists, Rs 75,000 for those who win silver and Rs 50,000 for those who win bronze.
Gold winner in Olympics will get one crore.
For the first time, the Assam State Government has introduced a sports policy to search for talent in the state. If an athlete wins a gold medal at the Olympics, he will be given one crore rupees as cash prize while the athletes who win gold at the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games will get Rs 50 lakh.
The Sports Authority of India has several responsibilities as a partner for the Khelo India Youth Games. Due to this event, sports have become a topic of discussion in Assam. On the other hand, the officials have decided that 1000 athletes will be given Rs 50,000 each for furthering their sports career.
Successful event history
Guwahati has successfully hosted the National Games in 2007, the South Asian Games in 2016 and the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in 2017. In such a situation, the authorities are confident that Guwahati will successfully organize the Khelo India Youth Games.
