Khelo India Youth Games 2020 is the third edition of Khelo India and its commonly known as KIYG 2020. It is one of the biggest event in India. Khelo India is very helpful for all athletes, who will going to Olympics.
Khelo India will be held in January every year and Khelo India 2020 will be held in January also and the period in January between 10 to 22, 2020.
The importance of sports and fitness in one’s life is invaluable. Playing sports inculcates team spirit, develops strategic & analytical thinking, leadership skills, goal setting and risk taking. A fit and healthy individual leads to an equally healthy society and strong nation.
Cycling and Lawn Bowls are the new additional games of this year’s event, while Gymnastics, Kabaddi, and Volleyball will begin a day earlier from the opening day. Over 10,000 participants from across the country will depict their talent in 451 medal-event in 13 days.
Haryana, Maharashtra, and Delhi have remained the top-3 states with the most medals in the last two editions. Haryana won the inaugural event with a total of 102 medals, comprising of 38 gold medals. In the recent KIYG 2019, Maharashtra emerged successful with 228 medals, having 85 gold medals.

India’s young woman shooter Manu Bhaker has praised the Khelo India Games, saying that it is a perfect platform for young players like him to showcase their talent. Khelo India is a campaign brought by the Sports Ministry of India, which aims to create an atmosphere of sports in the country.
In a statement, Manu said, “I never thought that a tournament like Games India would come. Everybody used to say that if a person has to live a good life, he has to study well because he cannot make a career in sports.” I think the Khelo India Games are a great platform for the youth to showcase their talent. I thank the Prime Minister and the Sports Minister for this. “
Manu has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics to be held in Japan’s capital next year. She said that she will start preparations soon. He said, “I am excited for the Olympics-2020.
I will talk with my coach about some strategies and then work on them. Right now I am just doing my regular practice. Five-six hours a day I practice. There are many tournaments before the Olympics that will help us prepare for the Olympics. “

Khelo India – KIYG 2020 Opening Ceremony
The opening service of the Games will be held in a fantastic way on 10 January 2020. Khelo India 2020 Opening Ceremony games will be held in 11 settings in and around Guwahati. About Khelo India School Games:
Khelo India School Games (KISG), meaning Play India School Games, held annually beginning from 31 January 2018 first edition, are the national level multi disciplinary grassroot games in India for the under-17 years school kids.
Every year best 1000 kids will be given an annual scholarship of INR 500,000 for 8 years to prepare them for the international sporting events in 16 disciplines viz Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Shooting, Swimming, Volleyball, Weightlifting & Wrestling.
The Training of Trainers (TOT) Programme will be held in December 2018- January 2019 in the first phase. Here total of 160 trainers will be trained in 4 batches of 40 each in December-January period. This TOT Programme will be carried out semi- annually or quarterly to include all the interested teachers/principals/vice-principals/physical education trainers.
To identify the talent at grassroot level, each sports has a dedicated talent hunt committee, who will identify top 2 sportsperson for each sports and they will be given an annual scholarship of INR598,000 for 8 years.
The plan is to select 1,000 under-17 children each year for the next five years and provide scholarships of R5 lakh each to train them to become potential winners at the international level. “While 17 years is a pretty late age to start, gradually we will bring down the age for talent scouting to 14, or may be 12,” said Rathore.
About Khelo India Youth Games:-
Khelo India Youth Games is a part of the revamped national programme for development of sports, Khelo India. After the resounding success of the Khelo India School Games in 2018, it is back in 2019 in a much bigger and better version as the Youth Games. For the first time students from colleges and universities are participating, and will have a total of 9000 participants.
Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Sunday launched the jersey for the second edition of Khelo India, rechristened as Khelo India Youth Games, which will kick-start from January 9-20 in Pune.
