2021 Sea Games will be originally scheduled in Hanoi, Vietnam between 21st November to 2nd December, 2021. Now it was moved to 12 to 23 May, 2022 in Hanoi, Vietnam. In this tournament there will feature some 36 to 40 sports, mainly those played at the Olympics 2021 Games.

In November 2018, it was confirmed that TV5 was negotiating for the broadcasting rights for the games in the Philippines. ABS-CBN, PTV and 5 will telecast the games on free TV. Sea Games 2019 11 sports will be broadcast live in the Philippines while only highlights will be aired for other events.
